The best way to connect is by sending an email or fax. The clinic phone is no longer in active use. We no longer answer calls or call back, nor respond to voice or text messages. When necessary, emails are responded to within 24 - 48 hours during clinic hours on Monday to Thursday.
Dr. Owoeye is a paediatrician (not a psychiatrist) who typically provides routine/elective consultations and diagnostic assessments for mental health and behavioural concerns in children and teens up to 17 years of age.
She does not assess for learning disabilities, psychotic disorders and personality disorders.
She does not enrol patients or provide ongoing or follow up care.She does not provide psychological/psycho-educational assessment, psychotherapy or counselling services.
Dr. Owoeye has more than one practice location in Ottawa, the address listed on the website is to for correspondence purposes. Please do not visit any location for an appointment unless you were advised to do so.
A referral from a family doctor or nurse practitioner or other professional with a MOH billing number is always required to proceed. These appointments are covered by OHIP, hence a valid health card is a must, she is currently not accepting private or Quebec patients.
Routine/Elective consultations and diagnostic assessments are typically booked 2 - 3 months ahead, appointment notifications are sent by email only. Visit your family doctor if you require urgent care, or attend the nearest hospital ER in case of emergency.
You will be notified by EMAIL ONLY. Once you have received an appointment notification email, please ensure to read through the additional information provided, answers to frequently asked questions about appointments can be found there.
Assessments are provided in English only, interpreters are not routinely assigned by the clinic, patients are welcome to bring an interpreter along to their appointment.
When making inquiries about a patient, please provide their full name as indicated on their health card (do not give first name or initials only), the full name is required to look up their medical record.
Note that since Dr. Owoeye is not a primary care provider, she is not primarily responsible for any patient's care, the referring family doctor or nurse practitioner is the primary care provider.
After each visit and upon discharge, a summary containing recommendations for ongoing management is faxed to the referring family doctor or nurse practitioner to ensure continuity of care as necessary.
If you missed an appointment, urgent reschedule might not be possible, consider seeing your primary physician to continue care until a new appointment is scheduled.
After a patient is discharged, prescription requests sent from the pharmacy, medication refills, dose adjustments, initiating new medication trials will be facilitated by the referring family doctor or nurse practitioner.
Sending referrals to other specialists, completing DTC application or other forms will be done by the referring family doctor or nurse practitioner.
